Good Craps Bets: On the come out roll the best bet you can place is on the passline. At only a 1.41% house edge the passline bet offers considerably better odds than most other craps bets. On the comeout roll with a pass line bet you will win if a 7 or 11 are rolled. You will lose if a 2,3, or 12 are rolled. If any other number is rolled a point will be established. This means whatever that number is your pass line bet is transferred over to that number. If a 6 is rolled on the come out you will win if it is rolled again before the shooter rolls a 7.
An odds bet can be placed after a point has been established on the come out roll. This is a great bet to take! It is a bet which is a multiple of your original passline bet, and placed directly behind it on the craps table. 2X is usually the maximum allowed for an odds bet at the casino, but some casinos in Las Vegas and Atlantic City will allow up to 100X odds! You should always take the odds bet and always bet the maximum. It pays out at true odds. This means the house edge on a passline bet with and odds bet attached is zero. Not to mention the simple fact that you can win up to 100X your original bet this way! By placing an odds bet on your already favorable pass line bet you greatly reduce the houses edge in craps. If you place 2X odds, the house edge becomes 0.61% instead of 1.41%.
If you are at a casino that allows 100X odds bets you can lower their edge to 0.2%! That's basically even money. You won't find odds this good at any other table game in the casino! Pass line betting with odds is key to success in craps.
